What are we looking for?

John Kelly Photos is looking for professional photographers with significant photography experience in racing and endurance sporting events. Ideal candiates have photographed dozens of racing events including marathons, 5ks, OCR/Mud runs, cycling, triathlons and similar events. Additionally, prospective photographers should:

  • Have high attention to detail, be able to follow directions, but be able to solve problems and act independently when needed;
  • Have significant experience in racing and endurance sporting event photography;
  • Have at least two (2) Nikon or Canon professional DSLRs that can accept two (2) memory cards each; 1
  • Have a Nikon or Canon brand 70-200mm f/2.8 lens; 2
  • Be familiar with our photographer's general event Shooting guide to ensure they are comfortable with what we expect from photographers at events;
  • Be able to bring something new and unique to our team, with a positive attitude and a lot of fun!

*1 Your primary camera MUST accept two (2) memory cards, and be able to shoot simultaneously to both card slots. Your secondary camera should have two (2) card slots as well.

*2 In our experience, third-party 70-200's have been unable to to keep up with the demand we put them through at our events. For this reason, we require your 70-200mm to be Nikon or Canon brand. We welcome Sony, Tamron and Sigma lens for all OTHER lenses.
